SBIG Camera STF-3200M je kompaktní, ekonomická, s vysokou kvantou účinností kamera na vědecké úrovni plnoformátových CCD kamer. STF - 3200M je v podstaě stejná kamera jako STF - 402M kromě toho, že má obrazový čip CCD KAF-3200ME o více jak 4x větším a má více než 8x větší počet pixelů než KAF- 0402ME. Tato CCD má 3.21 megapixelů, 2184 x 1472 pixelů a velikost pixelu 6,8 mikronů. [Upozornění: kvůli velikosti obrazového pole, vnitřní filtrové kolo nemůže být použito.] STF - 3200M, jako STF- 1603M je určena především pro průmyslové a životní vědecké aplikace, kde rychlejší stahovací rychlost je důležitější než maximální chlazení nebo samonavádění. Samozřejmě, také bude vykonávat velmi dobře i astronomické aplikace, zvláště kde je externí navádění a filtrový karusel.

KAF-3200ME High QE CCD
The STF-3200M uses the same CCD as the STT-3200ME with extraordinary high Quantum Efficiency (QE). A micro lens layer over the pixels of the CCD has significantly increased the QE of this detector. With a peak QE around 85%, the KAF-3200ME is perhaps the most sensitive front illuminate CCD available. Previously, this level of QE was achievable only through the expensive process of thinning the wafer and illuminating the image sensor from the backside. The QE for the blue wavelength of 400 nm is nearly double that of the 3200E and there is a 30% increase in QE over the 3200E (from 65% to 85%) at the important deep red H-alpha emission line. A comparison of the QE of the former KAF-3200E and the current KAF-3200ME CCDs is shown in the graph below.
